Year 6 students from Compass Primary Academy recently visited the Warner Bros. Studios to study the making of Harry Potter.
During the trip the children had the chance to see costumes, props and scenery used in the Harry Potter films. They explored the Great Hall, walked through Diagon Alley, look in detail at Dumbledore’s office and observed the Potion room.
The highlight of the trip was gaining an insight into how the films were made. Tricks of the camera were exposed, animatronics explained and models of the scenes could be inspected. A giant model of Hogwarts ensured that the children understood how much detail, time and effort went into making each film.
The trip will support the childrens' learning during their IPC work this term and help the children to add depth and detail to their written work. The children had a fantastic time during the trip and learnt an enormous amount; every child was impeccably behaved and a credit to the school.
