This week is national sports week and to celebrate the school have organised a range of events for students to take part in.
During the week fencing and archery sessions led by premier sport will be available to students. A judo coach is also visiting the school to teach some basic moves and rules of the sport.
Rounders matches are taking place throughout the week and there is an inter-Trust tchoukball tournament on Tuesday as part of the primary competitions.
Reception will take part in a foundation stage ‘Learnt o Cycle’ programme designed to help children gain the confidence and skills required to ride a pedal bike independently. This will then assist in their ability to participate in Bikeability at a later stage in their school years.
Finally, to bring the week to a close, primary PE specialist Mr Gavin Hall has organised a Race for Life- Fun Run for the whole school to get involved in.
Want to expose them to different sports they may not have had the chance to before.
Mr Hall said ‘I hope that the students find the week of events really enjoyable and get to try a range of new sports.’
