Students receive training from Northampton Saints coaches

Our Academy recently visited Franklin's Gardens, home to the Northampton Saints as part of a Trust rugby trip.

Students from primary schools across the Brooke Weston Trust started the day by taking part in a training session led by the Saints coaches. The students were then treated to an exciting tour of the grounds in which they had the chance to see all the area usually off limits to the public, including the changing rooms and gym.

To end the day there was a mini tournament against the other Trust schools: Beanfield Primary School, Gretton Primary Academy, Oakley Vale Primary School and Peckover Primary School. We were crowned overall champions.

Primary PE Specialist, Mr Gavin Hall said 'The students have been training on Friday lunch times for the past few weeks and it was great to see their hard work pay off. Overall it was an amazing experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by both children and staff.'
