Homework is an important part of a child’s education and can add much to a child’s development and attainment. Homework includes a wide range of activities set by teachers and supported by parents to improve children’s learning.
Homework at Compass Primary focuses specifically on developing and improving key skills in reading and maths. There are also opportunities for children to learn from and use Knowledge Organisers to learn key vocabulary and events within the topic they are studying.
NEW THIS YEAR...
At Compass Primary, we appreciate that time is precious and with growing families, it can be difficult to give manage multiple homework activities. With this in mind, this year we will be setting homework challenges that we would like to complete alongside family members. These will be set at the start of every half term, with the expectation that parents send in photos or pupils bring in their actual work for display.
- Autumn 1 = Beat the Street
- Autumn 2 = Reading Challenge
- Spring 1 = Reuse or Recycle Creatively
- Spring 2 = The Compass Primary ‘Recipe Book’
- Summer 1 = Artwork Challenge
- Summer 2 = Photography
