Miss Susannah Grey - Pre-School Teacher
Susannah was previously an early years teacher before coming to Little Explorers nearly two years ago. She said: ‘What is special about Little Explorers is the team, we work really well together and are all good at different things. I am passionate about seeing children develop and grow and the little milestones that make such a big thing in their lives, like learning how to put their socks on or pouring a drink of milk … little things that are huge things to a child when they are this age.
‘Being in the new building has made such as difference as they can move independently from indoors to outside as it is all on one level with no steps, so that has been a massive improvement. Also this building has given us the freedom to have the environment we want, with the flexibility to change it according to the children’s needs. We resource it with things that will excite and interest them and use real objects and artefacts rather than toys.
‘My favourite part of the job is reading stories and going into different worlds with the children, taking them somewhere new and pretending. Setting up the nursery has been a big learning curve and we are improving and changing the environment daily. It has been challenging having younger children but they bring a different dynamic and it is nicer that the younger children have the older children to model behaviour for them and the older ones are caring towards the younger children. It is always fun, hardworking and busy but there is so much laughter in the day.’
