Behaviour

Our vision at Compass Primary is to create a positive learning environment ensuring that the child is at the heart of everything we do.

We have a therapeutic approach to behaviour management which is underpinned by the Cambridgeshire Therapeutic Thinking approach.

Our policy prioritises the pro-social experiences and feelings of everyone within the school community. All adults model therapeutic practices with all pupils, other adults in the school and parents.

Our policy is built upon the principles of “Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Safe”. These principles are underpinned by 6 core behaviours, all of which are demonstrated through our Academy values. Our Academy values of Respect, Aspiration, Resilience, Co-operation and Responsibility are embedded throughout our Academy and allow our pupils to understand the need for an agreed code of conduct, which allows all to access a safe and happy learning environment.

We believe children learn best when they feel safe, liked and respected and know that they belong.
